It’s felt like destiny has been on pause. We can change that. Now it’s time to elect a politician, for once in your life, who will rally the community together like never before actually bring REAL CHANGE that you can see, feel, and take part in!
Cody’s plan for massive community action and restoring a collective sense of purpose:
– rally community spirit and public participation like never before. establish a collective mission for all and something to believe and participate in.
-for our seniors, plan and fundraise for a shuttle system to provide essential transportation by the people for the people.
– for our families, plan and fundraise for an in-ground pool to be built at island park. summer fun by the people for the people.
– For all of our people, fundraise a general fund to be spent on community projects such as the cenotaph restoration, the glengarry hospital ct scanner, and other projects as they come in a responsible and socially engaging way.
– When a project is successfully community funded, discuss with the general public at a town hall what we should band together and accomplish next!
From birth we’re assigned one goal: accumulate money like “points”. Chase career and the material at all costs. Somewhere in the last few decades we’ve lost all sense of collective meaning and purpose. At the national level Canada is merely a corporation and regarded as an “economic zone” with no core identity or purpose.
Perhaps we can’t change the nation. Perhaps we can’t change the world. But perhaps we can implement radical change here in North Glengarry. Re-establish collective goals and accomplish them together. Stack one victory after another and bring in real tangible changes for the better that together we can see. Build a shuttle, build a pool, and smash through any barriers that get in our way!
